
Postcards and letters have been mailed to some members referencing a recently closed mortgage with “MILESTONE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION”, or “RESPONSE NEEDED, SECOND NOTICE” in the body of the letter or postcard.
The postcard indicates an urgency to call the provided number to discuss, and the letter indicates a response is needed to purchase mortgage protection insurance. These postcards and letters are NOT from Milestones Federal Credit Union, and we are encouraging members not to call the number listed on the postcard.
These postal communications, similar to the ones shown above, are considered spam and can be safely ignored. If you are still unsure if what you’ve received is considered spam, you can also look for:
- An unfamiliar company name listed. For example; the yellow postcard includes “All information provided by [Other Company Name] loan information not provided by MILESTONE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION” on the mail communication”. Milestones Federal Credit Union will clearly state if the mail is coming from the credit union.
- A mortgage ID number or other account number on the document. Milestones Federal Credit Union takes member privacy seriously and would never show any personal information on a postcard or a letter that isn’t directly from the credit union with our Logo.
- An incorrect phone number listed. Cross reference the number listed on the postcard or letter with the credit union phone number: (207) 783-3991.
- No affiliation. The letter or postcard may also have this wording “Not affiliated with or sponsored by MILESTONE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION; solicitation not authorized by and loan information not provided by MILESTONE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION.”
